Introduction

Although women have gained a number of civil rights and liberities throughout the last century, the world-wide fight for women's rights is not over.  To be able to live in a society in which gender-based discrimination doesn't exist, it is of utmost importance that these rights are granted to women.  It is also essential for the creation of a diverse society in which the rigid rules that govern behaviour of women and men are broken. This will offer a multitude of possibilities for development of both the individual and greater society.
Gender-based discrimination is the way all societies in the world assign different functions, attitudes, values and relationships to people based on whether they are women or men.
Because of this, we've designed this research project so that you will be aware that although these “differences” still exist, they need to be eradicated.

Each group will research this subject and will make a document containing the information found and conclusions formed.

After researching, we will be able to answer the question: What is the origin of International Women's Day?
