Erasmus policy statement (overall strategy)

 

 

International strategy

 

Our mobility activities are part of Key Action 1: student and staff mobility. In fact, our strategy aims to improve the quality of our staff and students by establishing sustainable quality partnerships with international institutions, especially HEIs.

 

The mobility activities will consist preferably on traineeships for our short-cycles degrees, which are our priority target groups: Pre-primary Education, Social Integration, Sign Language Interpretation and Aestheticism. The geographical area of the host institutions must suit our students' academic profiles: for example, for the short-cycle of Pre-primary Education we’ll try to find partners in Italy, where exists a long tradition of good kindergartens (especially in the region of Reggio-Emilia). We will choose our partners according to quality criteria and to the possibility of founding a trust and well-balanced relationship.

 

For this seeking procedure we will preferably use preparatory visits.

 

 

Strategy for the organisation and implementation

 

Our institution has a three-phase plan that should be developed in this way:

 

-Phase 1: our reference teachers will make preparatory visits, in order to find partnerships with HEIs and enterprises.

-Phase 2: we’ll try to send our students to those host institutions.

-Phase 3: we’ll try to strengthen the links with the HEIs by receiving their students, creating a long-term sustainable and reciprocal partnership.

 

Later, and in the framework of “Erasmus for all” program, we’ll try to spread this internationalization culture to the other educative levels in our institution: Post-compulsory and compulsory education.

 

The distribution of tasks is as follows:

 

Erasmus coordinator:

-Drafting the projects

-Arranging the inter-institutional and learning agreements

-Coordinating the procedures of selection and preparation of outgoing participants

-Coordinating the reception and integration of incoming participants

-Helping out/incoming participants solve daily-life problems

-Implementing the procedures of credits recognition and transcript of records

-Implementing the use of Diploma supplements and/or Europass mobility document

-Disseminating information on the program, before and after mobilities

-Managing the email contact account

-Evaluating the program

 

Reference teachers:

-Seeking HEIs and enterprises in order to found partnerships

-Advising in the procedure of arranging learning agreements

-Supervising the traineeships (both at home and host institutions)

-Participating in the selection procedure of nominees

-Helping in the evaluation of the program

 

School Principal:

-Give the nod to each step of the program

-Sign the inter-institutional agreements and transcript of records

 

 

Impact on the modernization of the institution

 

The policy objectives of our institution’s modernisation strategy (according to the 5 priorities of the Modernisation Agenda) are:

 

1. Expanding the European participation among our students and staff.

2. Increasing the quality of our instruction.

3. Going on toward international mobility as a quality policy.

4. Linking our higher education to relevant foreign institutions and enterprises, improving thereby the productive local sector.

5. Improving our management system and funding.
