HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CONTEST AT INCA GARCILASO
Escrito por: Ángel Delgado Herrador, lunes 23 de noviembre de 2015 , 10:20 hs, en la categoría: sin categoria

This year the students of 1º and 2º ESO have participated in a pumpkin contest and it’s been a great experience.

First we have worked in class with some material involving vocabulary about Halloween. Working out the terrorific crosswords has been fun!!

We have also learnt the origin of the popular JACK O’LANTERN  pumpkins  by reading some comprehension texts like this one:

Legend has it that an Irish blacksmith called Jack shared drinks with the Devil on a Halloween night. Jack was an evil and stingy man…

“Did you know that Jack was Irish and that he was so evil that he couldn’t even go into hell??”

Finally we made the “JACK O’LANTERNS” at home and brought them to school to be exhibited in the hall. Many students came up to have a look at our pumpkins!!

Some pumpkins were really funny, others really scary...

All the students did a great job.

It was hard work for the jury who was composed by the English teachers and Amber (our assistant teacher) to choose the three best ones  for the three different categories. Finally here we have the results:

THE MOST TERRIFYING

THE BEST WELL-DONE

THE MOST ORIGINAL

Congratulations to all winners an also to all participants!!!
