ORIENTACIONES METODOLÓGICAS

En general todas las unidades han sido diseñadas para realizarse linealmente, es decir, el alumno solo tiene que abrir la unidad y seguir los pasos. Posee de un enlace a un diccionario online en todas las páginas por lo que siempre es posible hacer uso de él sin interrumpir la actividad.

NICENET: Ante todo se enfatiza el hecho de que el contacto del alumnos con internet sea el de acceder a un contexto auténtico en el que poder usar la lengua inglesa. Por ello deberían enfatizarse y dedicarle especial atención a aquellas actividades en las que el alumno escriba con un propósito real o casi real. El uso del correo electrónico es muy importante no sólo a la hora de comunicarse con 'keypals' sino tambien con otros compañeros y con el profesor. Para ello resulta muy útil la habilitación de un curso virtual donde todos los alumnos puedan enviar mensajes y participar en un foro privado o actividades para compartir con los demás. Asimismo el alumno puede aprender del trabajo de otros y practicar la lengua, siempre bajo la vigilancia del profesor/a en el foro de la clase.

Destacamos las posibilidades de Nicenet por ser un medio cerrado y privado para la clase, al que sólo pueden acceder aquellos que estén registrados. Se puede llevar un control de las actividades y tareas desde Nicenet así como alojar documentación, tarea para casa, y una tutoría virtual. Al mismo tiempo al estar alojado en internet Nicenet permite su acceso desde cualquier ordenador o desde la propia casa. Es muy fácil de usar ya que tiene pocas secciones. Los servicios de Nicenet son gratuitos y sin publicidad.

Este es el enlace que abre la clase virtual "Easy Writing English" en Nicenet. Para acceder entrar en http://www.nicenet.org, Hemos habilitado una cuenta visitante para aquellos profesores que quieran ver cómo funciona. Para ello introducir en username: "visitingteacher" y en password: "libre" , luego presionar "log in" y ya estamos dentro de nuestro curso virtual.

El uso de internet como fuente de información donde el inglés es una lengua muy importante debe explotarse profundamente. Al ser un medio real de acceso para los angloparlantes, el alumno/a al acceder a internet se encuentra en un contexto lingüístico real y por ello se siente más motivado. Por ello queremos enfatizar las ventajas de actividades como Webquests, o proyectos en Internet.

Proyectos con otros centros. Este curso esta diseñado para en cualquier momento poder compartir proyectos a través de Nicenet, un medio con un gran valor educativo. Los alumnos extranjeros sólo tendrían que registrarse en el curso y participar activamente junto al resto de alumnos españoles.

Corregir los textos de nuestros alumnos: Existe un programa muy interesante para corregir textos escritos. Véase un ejemplo de texto corregido en "Markin sample" y acceso a la página web del programa en http://www.cict.co.uk/software/markin/index.htm. Por supuesto también podemos corregir los textos con un procesador de textos que tenga la opción de "control de cambios" o simplemente añadir "comentarios" en el lugar donde se localiza el error en la composición.

UNIT 2

Objectives:

	Discuss and express opinions about differences between parents and children.
	Describe daily routines.
	Revise the use of the simple present and simple past.
	Write and gather information about other people.

Procedures:

	Read and talk about generational gaps.
	Use vocabulary related to the family and young people
	Ask questions about school days now and in the past

UNIT 3

Objectives:

	Read comprehensibly looking for information about a place.
	Learn vocabulary related to travelling and other cultures.
	Revise the use of the simple past.
	Write about a place and its history.
	Search for information in the internet.
	Writing for a purpose.

Procedures:

	Use search engines on the internet.
	Read a text searching for specific information.
	Use vocabulary related to travelling.
	Work in groups to design a written guideline for a trip.

UNIT 4

Objectives:

	Appreciate life in other countries and cultures.
	Expressing one's opinions on a subject in a written text.
	Organizing one's ideas and arguments in a written text.
	Revise the use of the simple past and present perfect.
	Revise the use of modal verbs.
	Revising vocabulary related to jobs and rights.
	Write a letter of presentation for a job.

Procedures:

	Read and talk about young people's lives in other countries and meeting other cultures.
	Use vocabulary related to jobs and rights to express one's opinions.
	Use the past simple to narrate a story and use the present perfect to talk about one's experience.
	Read a text about suggestions using the modal should.
	Organize ideas with the purpose of expressing one's opinion.
	Use pictures to generate a written story.

UNIT 5

Objectives:

	Appreciate the importance of internet as a means of communication and a source of information
	Revise vocabulary related to computers, internet and the environment.
	Revise the use of the future tense, should, mustn't and thr passive voice.
	Writing for a purpose, giving advice.
	Generate ideas on a topic and organize them.
	Work in groups effectively.
	Develop good behaviours towards our environment
	Develop a positive attitude towards writing.

Procedures:

	Read about the history of Internet.
	Use the internet to search for information about recycling.
	Read a text searching for specific information.
	Use vocabulary related to recycling and the environment.
	Work in groups to discuss and a reach a consensus.
	Writing for fun creating a story in groups.
