RESPECT TO MINORITIES
Minorities usually come from countries, where, famine, unemployement, violence,
harrassment, war, prevail. They travel to rich countries looking for work, freedom, peace.
It is fruitful for the united Europe of the common open market to accept legally the
immigrants because the cooexistence of the peoples is a necessity of our time.
The immigrants do jobs that no European subject will accept to do on the same
conditions and wages as they do.
At the 60s there was a huge migration towards the countries of the industrial
revolution.
We may consider the minorities responsible for the unemployement, the criminality, the
corruption. But we should distinguish the legal from the illegal immigrants.
The receiving countries must decide before hand about their needs in labour hands so
they will accept only legal immigrants succeeding in this way to respect both the
immigrants human rights and equal opportunities, as well as the laws of the receiving
country.
We have to respect the differences in the nationality, religion, language, culture and
try to incorporate this work force. We should not fear the strangers and reject them.
The educational system must help the social adjustement of the immigrant children
overcoming and solving, the language, communication, incorporation problems.
Non governmental organizations and the church can play a major positive, role in the
acceptance of the immigrants and the mentality of the receiving country.
Racists believe that the future of Europe is not safe and secure so we should not
accept immigrants. But on the contrary immigrants are a new power of life , energy and
culture.
However the most help towards poor countries is to accept their products. This
commercial interaction will help them develop while charity and altruism augments the
migrating current.
Feeling respected and accepted the immigrant becomes a progress factor pulling down the
negative stereotypes.
