Good Friday: The Crucifixion

Roman soldiers whipped Jesus before they took him to Golgota, the place outside the city, where he would be crucified.

They put a crown of thorns on his head and compelled him to wear the crucifix. When they came to the chosen place, they crucified him between two robbers.

It took a long time to die on the crucifix. it became dark on the sky even though it was in the middle of the day. Jesus cried out to God and asked why he had abandoned him.

A soldier thought Jesus shouted because he was thirsty, so he gave him some vine. After that Jesus died, the earth shook and the rocks fell down.

In the temple the curtains, in front of the sacred room, fell down. Then everybody understood that Jesus was the Son of God. Jesus then raised from the dead three days after that.

So, that is why we celebrate Easter. Jesus was crucified and later he raised from the dead.
