| Nuclear bombs
Reflections from IES CASTULO, Linares. SPAIN
"Nuclear Bombs" by Pablo García Caño (1st of
Bachillerato)
Nowadays nuclear bombs are, like some years ago, a real danger,
although the situation is better than in the 60's or 70's, fortunately. Then there was the
"Cold War" when the USA and the USSR had a lot of bombs.
In these years people were afraid of a nuclear war because both
countries were confronted and they even sometimes warned that they were ready to shoot.
Luckily these countries are "friends" now and there are not problems between
them.
Today the danger comes from Arabian countries, specially Iran and Iraq.
There were tense situations in 1990, in the Gulf War, when Iraq invaded Kuwait. and in
1999. These countries are enemies of the USA, specially.
Thanks God there has not been any nuclear explosion since the Second World War, in
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, because the consequences could be terrible for environment, people
and life.
