p    OPIA STUDY

The OPIA study (Opinions and Attitudes of the Andalusian Population regarding Immigration) aims to provide insights regarding the perception and assessment of foreign immigration on the part of Andalusia's native citizens. OPIA integrates quantitative measurement (a large telephone survey) and qualitative data (focus groups and in-depth interviews), thus offering a truly comprehensive approach to the study of public opinion regarding international migration in Spain. A second remarkable - and quite unique - methodological trait of the OPIA study is the survey's stratification in terms of the immigrant population's residential distribution; hence, it is possible to discern the impact of direct contact in vital spheres of life on the opinions and attitudes regarding migration.
