Summary of the Annual Report 2010 |
Welcome to the web site of Virgen del Rocío University Hospital, one of the biggest health centres in Spain and the largest complex of the Andalusian public healthcare system. Our hospital includes a complete service portfolio in order to attend a basic population of more than half a million inhabitants within the Seville province.
Virgen del Rocío University Hospital is a regional and national reference centre for the most complex specialities and procedures, having the institutional recognition of the Andalusian and the Spanish Ministries of Health. Clinical management is the strategic model of organization which helps to transfer to professionals the responsibility of the objectives and outcomes of their care units and strengthen relationship and engagement with citizens. Only with the involvement and the vocation of all our staff, 8,000 workers, and with a defined strategy of excellence, is it possible to achieve the best results in care, teaching, research and management in this Hospital with a 55-year history. More than 50,000 admissions, 310,000 emergencies, 61,000 operations, 1,000,000 consultations, around 300 transplants and 8,300 deliveries are part, every year, of our main activities.
