Abstract
Kale is a subspecies of brassica that does not develop a head (Brassica oleracea convar. acephala) with several cultivars of different morphology, considered (according to the USDA) as a superfood due to its nutritional composition with high content of vitamin A and C and calcium and iron, among others.
The paper presents the results of two trials carried out over two years at the IFAPA Camino de Purchil (Granada) center with cold winters and at the IFAPA in Malaga with mild winters. The viability of the crop has been verified in both cases, but with much higher yields in the second, reaching more than 11 tn/ha and 45 tn/ha, respectively. It is a crop easily convertible to organic due to the low incidence of pests and diseases that it presents and with little irrigation requirement due to the autumn-winter season in which it is developed.
