Located in an old mansion, the Francisco Hernández Centre for Contemporary Art of Vélez-Málaga has an area of 2000 square metres distributed over three floors, with six exhibition halls, a teaching room, assembly hall and administrative offices. Since its restoration, it has offered exhibitions, in addition to film series, conferences and jazz performances, as well as an educational programme with guided tours and workshops suitable for the general public.

It is the first place dedicated to emerging art to be built in Andalusia outside of a provincial capital.
