I. Identification of microbiota patterns
Characteristic of CRC, BC and LC tumours compared to other unaffected areas of the tumour and to the microbiota of individuals without tumours.
II. Identify microorganisms
Associated with the different histological subtypes of the three types of tumours.
III. To analyse changes in the microbiota
Associated with the expression levels of genes responsible for immune escape phenomena, tumour response, tumour suppression and cell cycle control.
IV. To analyse the role of metabolites
Produced by the microbiota in the tumour response.
Microbiome Characterisation
Liquid, tissue and stool biopsy
- Prospective selection of patients, recruitment and follow-up of patients, sample collection and collection of clinical and anthropometric data.
- Processing of tissue, blood and stool samples.
- Analysis of the bacterial profile of tissue, stool and blood samples and assessment of histological response.
- Analysis of the microbiota at baseline, during and after treatment.
- Analysis of gene expression in patients and its relationship with the bacterial profile.
- Determination of short-chain fatty acids, bile acids and polyamines.
- Analysis of the results of the microbiome (association between microbiota, tumour expression profile and response to treatment).
