A BIOBANK FOR HEALING

The Andalusian Network of Transfusion Medicine, Tissue, and Cells can be understood as a Biobank for healing, in collaboration with the Andalusian Health Service. The Andalusian Network of Transfusion Medicine, Tissue, and Cells has eight Transfusion, Tissue, and Cell Centres, i.e., one centre in each province. These centres are responsible for obtaining, processing, and supplying units of blood and blood derivatives, tissue, and cells to cover the transfusion needs of hospitals in Andalusia.

Blood transfusions save 75 lives every day. Hospitals constantly need blood for people who have suffered major injuries, as well as for patients who undergo surgery, organ transplants, cancer treatments, or other diseases that affect the blood.
