Health incorporates gamification into the State Congress of Bioscience Students
IAVANTE's Advanced Clinical Simulation Centre in Granada has recently become the setting for an innovative training activity aimed at attendees of the IV State Congress of Bioscience Students. It is a biomedical Escape Room entitled "Bio Code: Hospital Mission", organized by IAVANTE of the Fundación Progreso y Salud, in collaboration with the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia, the Preventive Medicine and Public Health Service of the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital and the General Directorate of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Management.
Over the course of two and a half hours, participants are faced with a simulated health emergency: a unknown infectious outbreak threatens to spread, and only a multidisciplinary team of bioscientists will be able to contain it in time. To do this, they will have to solve clinical tests, analyze samples, interpret diagnoses and make critical decisions in highly realistic hospital simulation scenarios.
This experience-based workshop seeks to foster key skills to their professional future, such as making decisions under pressure, teamwork and the practical application of the knowledge acquired in their studies. In addition, the activity combines clinical simulation and educational gamification methodologies to reinforce learning and awaken health vocations.
The organisation of this activity underlines the involvement of organisations of the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs in the training of future health professionals, collaborating closely to promote cutting-edge training initiatives such as this Escape Room.
IAVANTE's Advanced Clinical Simulation Center is an ideal space to host these types of immersive experiences that combine technology, realism and learning with formulas to improve assistance to Andalusian citizens.
