Abstract
Europe faces the continuing challenge of producing plant-based protein. Faba bean are an excellent candidate, but they need further development with different agronomic characteristics and adaptations to different countries and agroclimatic regions. Within the framework of the European project EUCLEG, a world collection of 400 faba bean accessions has been evaluated, providing information on: passport data, flower color, seed color, botanical group (major, equine, minor, paucijuga), height of the plant, grain weight and potential yield in our agroecological conditions. With these results, the genetic diversity of the IFAPA Legume Germplasm Bank will be increased, as well as identifying new materials adapted to our conditions to be used in the improvement programs underway in Andalucia.
