This article presents the archaeological results derived from the execution of the urban action of phase II of the project for the construction of the corridor in the Periquito Melchor stream, within the urban area of Linares. The earthworks affecting the subsoil of these works have resulted from the channelling of the riverbed through the construction of a frame and an open channel that, connecting with the pipes of previous actions located upstream and downstream, reduce the risk of overflow and flooding in the event of possible rainfall floods and an increase in the flow of the stream. The construction of a new road on the left bank of the riverbed, which also links with the existing road network, has been the other work unit that has involved large clearings and the most outstanding earthworks, allowing the connection between Avenida del Pisar and Calle Debla. The results of the archaeological activity have allowed the registration of immovable heritage assets corresponding to agricultural infrastructures related to the contemporary agricultural exploitation of this space, whose chronology is established in the first half of the twentieth century. |
