Intervención arqueológica preventiva mediante sondeos en calle Chinchilla nº 3 y 5 de Jaén

Abstract

Durante la excavación arqueológica se han documentado una serie de estructuras y restos que nos permiten inferir una serie de fases que arrancan en época emiral (siglos VIII-X), donde se destacan varias sepulturas orientadas en el eje N-S y cuyos individuos, que en su mayoría aparecen muy alterados, se encuentran depositados en decúbito lateral derecho y encarados hacia el este. Tras esta fase, se documentan estructuras asociadas al periodo almohade. La tercera fase documentada, encuadrada en la Edad Moderna (siglos XVI-XVIII), se relaciona con una serie de espacios usados como sótanos, que se excavan directamente en la roca y que debieron arrasar los restos de las fases precedentes. Tras esta fase, se documenta una serie de reformas y rellenos de las estructuras excavadas anteriores para regularizar el entorno de cara a edificar nuevas construcciones. Finalmente, encontramos una última fase, asociada a las reformas realizadas en el entorno de la parcela ya durante el siglo XX de nuestra era. During the archaeological excavation, a series of structures and remains have been documented that allow us to infer a series of phases that begin in the emiral period (8th-10th centuries), where several graves oriented on the N-S axis stand out and whose individuals, who in their Most of them appear very altered, they are lying in a right lateral decubitus position and facing east. After this phase, structures associated with the Almohad period are documented. The third documented phase, framed in the Modern Age (16th-18th centuries), is related to a series of spaces used as basements, which are excavated directly into the rock and which must have razed the remains of the preceding phases. After this phase, a series of renovations and fillings of the previous excavated structures are documented to regularize the environment in order to build new constructions. Finally, we find a final phase, associated with the reforms carried out around the plot already during the 20th century AD.
