Anuario Intervención Arqueológica Preventiva mediante sondeos arqueológicos y control de movimiento de tierra ocasionado por el proyecto de modernización y consolidación del riego "Pilar Largo" en el término municipal de Bedmar y Garcíez, Jaén

Abstract

El presente artículo detalla los resultados obtenidos durante la intervención arqueológica preventiva mediante la ejecución de sondeos arqueológicos y el control arqueológico de movimientos de tierra ocasionados por la actuación llevada a cabo para la modernización y consolidación del riego "Pilar Largo" en el término municipal de Bedmar y Garciez (Jaén). Las obras realizadas responden a la necesidad de renovación de las instalaciones e infraestructuras que conforman dicho sistema de riego y que se centran en la ejecución de una balsa de decantación y una balsa de acumulación de agua y los sistemas de tuberías necesarios para su correcto uso, y la integración en el sistema de riego existente en uso. Se ha documentado un relleno natural a base de margas arcillosas de tonos claros, que ocupa casi la totalidad de la superficie afectada por las obras, con pequeñas vetas localizadas de material natural de arcillas y yesos. Una única fase de ocupación identificada con el sistema de riego existente en uso que da servicio al cultivo de olivar que ocupa toda la zona afectada por las obras y sobre el que se centra el proyecto de renovación y mejora desarrollado.

This article details the results obtained during the preventive archaeological intervention through the execution of archaeological probes and the archaeological control of earthworks caused by the work carried out for the modernisation and consolidation of the "Pilar Largo" irrigation system in the municipality of Bedmar y Garciez (Jaén). The work carried out responds to the need to renovate the facilities and infrastructures that make up the irrigation system, focusing on the construction of a settling basin and a water accumulation basin and the piping systems necessary for their correct use, and their integration into the existing irrigation system in use. A natural fill based on light-coloured clayey loams has been documented, which occupies almost the entire area affected by the works, with small localised veins of natural clay and gypsum material. A single phase of occupation identified with the existing irrigation system in use that serves the olive grove that occupies the entire area affected by the works and which is the focus of the renovation and improvement project developed.
