DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

This observatory is located in an area of great importance on the migratory route of birds between the continents of Europe and Africa, and is also an area for reproduction for threatened birds. It is considered one of the most important enclaves for birds in the south of the peninsula.

You will also be able to enjoy seeing a number of different and interesting migratory birds such as eagles, hawks and kites on windy days, which stay in this area waiting for the appropriate conditions to cross the straits. You can see them either perched or in the air preparing to leave.

Outside the time of migratory passage, it is common to see other species such as the dunlin, the bar-tailed godwit, the sandwich tern and the emblematic species of this area, the Kentish plover, a resident wader that finds a favourable environment to reproduce and live in this natural area.
