CARRIL INTERIOR DE LA SAUCEDA - Ventana del Visitante
The route begins and ends in La Sauceda de Cortes de la Frontera, next to the provincial motorway CA-8201 and at the height of kilometres 24 to 25. All the route follows firm earth forest tracks through which we can come across hikers as well as authorised motor vehicles, it is therefore very important to take extreme precautions when riding our bicycles in a prudent way and at low speed, enjoying the landscape and the sounds of nature that surround us.
The first part of the route includes a continuous climb from the beginning, although it is not too steep, which lasts approximately the last half of the route. We will leave the so-called "Llanos del Buitre" on our left, an open area of pasture which we must not set foot in due to the existence of numerous heads of cattle. We will continue the ascent leaving also on our left the junction with the Puerto de la Gitana extraction road, we will pass through a very closed area of Mediterranean forest where the Canuto de Los Sauces is located and we will leave behind the so-called Fuente de los Lirios, until we arrive at the viewpoint popularly known as mirador del Roble where it is almost obligatory to stop to admire the stupendous views that can be seen from this hill.
The descent is also smooth but constant, and the last few metres after passing through the bushings or "soft ground" area help us recover from such an exhilarating route. On clear days you can see vast expanses of cork oak, ash, Valencian oak and hazelnut forests, with patches of pasture that are used for livestock and especially retinta beef. Be careful with the cattle and do not disturb them, you are in their home
At certain times it is feasible to observe the cork oak uncorking tasks, and at the end of September we may hear the bellowing of the deer, some inhabitants of this environment which, with a little luck and silence, we will be able to see among the thicket that surrounds us.
