DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

This is one of the easiest most and attractive hiking trails in the Estrecho Natural Park. Barely a kilometre long, this trail leads through a dirt road up to two metres wide and with hardly any incline, whether taken on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, the route becomes irresistible for any type of hiker.

The appeal of the itinerary will be determined at first by the pine forests, rockrose and mastic trees dotted across the clay ground of the Sierra de la Plata.

In the middle of the trail there is a small goat farm of goat, so it is possible to find the herd grazing in the mountains or crossing the road, when passing through. The end of the path boasts a vegetation which is more typical of soils formed by stabilised sands, such as junipers, broom and some coastal junipers. Here we see the old Torre del Cabo de Gracia, built in the 16th century by order of Philip II, today converted into the Camarinal Lighthouse that gives its name to the trail.

From here, on the right we have the beach of Atlanterra or de los Alemanes, with Cabo de Plata on the other side of the cove. On the left is the spectacular Cañuelo cove, nestled between a blanket of pine forest and Punta de Camarinal, which dominates our views ashore from the Camarinal Lighthouse viewpoint . Towards the sea, the silhouette of the African continent can be seen on the other side of the Straits and in opposite Cabo de Gracia, are the waters of the Atlantic.
