GUADIAMAR - Ventana del Visitante
In the vicinity of the town of Aznalcázar and a few metres from the banks of the Guadiamar is the visitor centre of the same name. This site constitutes the basic starting point to visit the Green Corridor and its surroundings. Its privileged location allows you to contemplate, from the heights of the building, the course of the waters and the lush gallery forest that houses the river in this section, as well as an old Roman bridge, witness to the historical and cultural importance of the river and its basin .
Extensive information on the significance and evolution of this protected landscape is offered at the visitor centre. After the restoration tasks, after the mining accident that occurred in 1998, the Guadiamar Green Corridor has led to the creation of an ecological corridor that connects Sierra Morena and Doñana, allowing the circulation of species between them.
The visitor will also discover the importance of the varied landscapes that the Guadiamar finds on its journey: pastures, pine forests, cereal crops or marshes. The vegetation of these landscapes can also be seen more comfortably, in the nearby botanical itinerary and recreation area of Buitrago.
