HUMAINA - Ventana del Visitante
This 3-star hotel is located in the heart of the Montes de Málaga, in a beautiful valley and surrounded by extraordinarily conserved nature. The building, of traditional architecture, was once the old forest ranger's mansion, today converted into a cozy two-story hotel with 12 double rooms and a beautiful suite in the building's most prominent position: the tower. It has a restaurant, a lounge-library, a meeting room, a patio and large terrace and a swimming pool not to mention the customer service is fantastic.
Aside from the comforts, the hotel also offers various activities: hiking and horse riding, free bike tours, an inroduction to bird watching, a library service... It also stands out for the tasty regional cuisine on offer, with dishes inspired by the area such as eggs Humaina style, ham roasted in Montes wine and mushrooms in almond sauce. Due to its quality and how close the hotel is to the city, this is an experience not to be missed. More than a hotel, it's an opportunity to enjoy yourself and relax, surrounded by nature.

From the Plaza de Olletas, in north Málaga, follow Camino del Colmenar and take the A-7000 road, known as "Carretera de los Montes". Following it for 15.3 km, you'll come to the Fuente de la Reina on the left, and from there a paved forest track starts. Follow the signs for 3.9 km, staying on the paved road as opposed to taking exits onto dirt lanes or tarmacked roads off to the right.
