This circular route takes us to the heart of the Sierra del Endrinal, allowing us to discover a great collection of interesting formations, created by the dissolution of the limestone rock, typical of the landscapes of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, you will see dolinas, passages, plains, grooves, limestone pavements of great pinnacles and rounded-tipped turrets, the best live geology class imaginable.
The Llano del Endrinal is a closed and elongated depression in the terrain, a small polje of almost triangular shape located at about 1,100 metres of altitude. It is bordered by a dry stone wall and, inside, there are pine trees providing shade to the cattle.
Among the rocks, not only can we see a sample of the flora of the natural park, but also one of the most emblematic animals that inhabit the mountains: the mountain goat.
From the higher areas you get excellent views of the significant peaks of this Sierra, such as El Reloj, El Simancón and El Peñón Grande, very close to Grazalema.
To follow this path, you must go to the Tajo Rodillo campsite, at the entrance to Grazalema. After about 50 metres, heading towards Zahara de la Sierra, a path starts that marks the beginning of the hiking trail.
