PARQUE NATURAL DEL ESTRECHO - Ventana del Visitante
The information point of the Strait, not only provides the visitor with informative material and personalised information, but also offers an interpretive exhibition divided into blocks of four themes:
- Discovering the characteristics of the Estrecho Natural Park. Given its maritime-terrestrial configuration, there are two types of environments, on land and submerged. Proximity to the underwater space is limited and difficult for the general public, which is why it is a central objective of the team in charge of information.
- The coastal landscapes. From the mountains and hills to the cliffs, abrasion platforms, inlets and capes.
- Submerged landscapes. The visitor crosses the waters of the Straits in a journey through the sea like an inexorable road that leads him. A visit is made to its private enclaves with its own name (Sierra de la Plata, Bolonia, Los Lances, Tarifa). The island of Tarifa and its lighthouse are the turning point of this trip, as they are also in this confluence between two seas and two continents.
- The archaeological and historical heritage are a reflection of the importance and strategic value of this Protected Area: its early settlement, its strategic location between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean and between Europe and Africa.
The information point of the Estrecho Natural Park is in the town of Tarifa, in the area known as La Peña. It is accessed via the N-340 road, about 7 km from Tarifa (heading towards Cádiz-Tarifa).
