Located halfway up an old Roman road that connected the Bay of Algeciras with that of Cádiz, from this viewpoint we can enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the Sierra de Ojén and the Sierra de la Luna.
We can see the great contrast between the areas of cattle pasture and the lush forests of cork oaks, or even the dense masses of Valencian oaks in the more humid lands. If we look closely at any of the latter, we can see their unique shape as they are split into huge arms since in this area, Valencian oaks are used for charcoal by the locals.
Of particular interest are the large flocks of kites, storks and other types of migratory birds that rest in these valleys after several days of intense winds as they make their way to the continent of Africa.
From the service road of the A-381 motorway, take exit 77, or, from the N-340, turn off towards Facinas. The viewpoint is located on the Valle de Ojén cycle route.
