The Rio Salado de Conil Special Conservation Zone is in the southwest of Andalusia, in Cadiz province. The area is approximately 211.53 hectares and covers mostly public land in Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera, Chiclana de la Frontera and Medina Sidonia.
The plant community present is the tamarius bosquina
Regarding fauna, it is home to namely Aphanius baeticus fish and otters, as well as numerous invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles. Notably, the great capricorn beetle, marbled newt and Mediterranean turtle. As well as birds of prey such as the lesser kestrel, black-winged kite, Bonelli´s eagle, and griffon vulture.
