Alina was born in La Habana, Cuba on 5th September 1946. She’s a member of the Teatro Lirico Nacional de Cuba. (National Lyrical Theatre).
Founded and managed the Estudio Lirico de las Artes Escenicas.
She studied with Mariana de Gonitch, Carmelina Santana Reyes and Gonzalo Roig. In 1968 she entered the Teatro Lirico Gonzalo Roig, where she debuted with the show “La Leyenda del Beso” (Legend of a Kiss) by Reveriano Soutullo and Juan Vert. Since then she has developed an intense career, starring in the operas “Rigoletto” and “La Traviatta” by Giuseppe Verdi as well as zarzuelas by Arrieta, Pablo Luna, Moreno Torroba, Lecuona and Rodrigo Prats.
In 1980 she got an award for Best Actress for her role as Cecilia Valdes, by Roig at the 1st Festival de Teatro de la Habana (Habana Theatre Festival).
In 1984 she travelled to Spain as a member of an artists’ delegation, a country she would then return as a soloist with the Antologia de la Zarzuela by Jose Tamayo. She toured the world with this play.
Her appearances at the Kennedy Center, Washington; Madison Square Garden, New York and the Opera de Roma, are proof of her talent and dedication.
She has been decorated with the Alejo Carpentier medal.
