Biography María Terremoto

María Terremoto grew up surrounded by the echo of the most important flamenco artists from Jerez (Spain). When she was 6 she was asked by her own father, Fernando Terremoto, to go on the stage of the flamenco club (peña flamenca) named after him, passing this way the artistic baton to his daughter.

In 2015 flamenco dancer El Carpeta asked her to accompany him at his shows. Her performance at Jerez Festival in 2016 had an unprecedented impact for an artist who was only 16 and since then she has been required by numerous flamenco clubs and big festivals.

She achieved recognition as flamenco singer in the Flamenco Bienal of Sevilla in 2016, when she became the youngest artist awarded with the Giraldillo prize to the best newcomer. Afterwards she performed on stages such as Teatro Conde Duque, Teatro La Latina or Paco de Lucía Auditorium in Madrid, at the opening of the Gira del Norte in Logroño or at the tablao El Cordobés in Barcelona. In 2017 she participated the gala of the Spanish Public Television (TVE) at Liceu in Barcelona with singer Miguel Poveda andshe gave at Teatro Quintero in Sevilla (two days sold out) the zambomba concert that her father had premiered at the Villamarta theatre in Jerez. She is now working in her first discographic work, which will be presented at the Flamenco Bienal in Sevilla.
