Intervención arqueológica en la torre medieval de Higuera de Calatrava (Jaén)

Abstract

La Actividad Arqueológica Puntual realizada se enmarca dentro de un proyecto planteado por el Ayuntamiento de Higuera de Calatrava (Jaén), con la finalidad de consolidar, restaurar, rehabilitar y poner en valor el Torreón Medieval de este municipio. Durante los trabajos arqueológicos realizados, análisis de estructuras emergentes de todos los lienzos interiores y dos sondeos en la planta baja y la terraza de la torre, se han podido documentar materiales y estructuras anteriores a su función defensiva, además, entre otros, de niveles correspondientes al momento de construcción en entre los siglos XIII y XIV.

The Specific Archaeological Activity carried out is part of a project proposed by the Higuera de Calatrava City Council (Jaén), with the aim of consolidating, restoring, rehabilitating and enhancing the value of the Medieval Tower of this municipality. During the archaeological work carried out, analysis of emerging structures of all the interior walls and two surveys on the ground floor and the terrace of the tower, it has been possible to document materials and structures prior to their defensive function, in addition, among others, to corresponding levels at the time of construction in between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
