Intervención arqueológica en la necrópolis iberromana de la puerta norte de Cástulo, Linares, Jaén

Abstract

Se ha proyectado la construcción de un centro de recepción de visitantes en la Zona Arqueológica de Cástulo, dependiente de la Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía. El edificio se ubicará en la zona donde se sitúa la Necrópolis de la Puerta Norte de Cástulo. Por este motivo se realizó una excavación arqueológica que comenzó el día 2 de agosto de 2005, y ha consistido en la ejecución de 5 sondeos arqueológicos. La secuencia arqueológica localizada se distribuye en tres fases históricas: en primer lugar localizamos estratos sedimentarios con materiales cerámicos que se encuadrarían entre el siglo I a.n.e. y el siglo I d.n.e.; posteriormente se ha documentado una gran superficie pavimentada que se realizaría hacia la segunda mitad del siglo IV, y que hacia el siglo V se le incorporan nuevas estructuras y usos.

There has been projected the construction of a Center of Visitors' Receipt in the Archaeological Zone of Cástulo, salesman of the Council of Culture of the Meeting of Andalusia. The building will be located in the zone where the Necropolis of the Door places Cástulo's North. For this motive there was realized an archaeological excavation that began on August 2, 2005, and it(he,she) has consisted of the execution of 5 archaeological polls. The archaeological located sequence is distributed in three historical phases: first we locate sedimentary strata with ceramic materials that would be fitted between the century I a.n.e. and the century I d.n.e.; later there has received documents a great paved surface that would be realized towards the second half of the IVth century, and that about the century V him(her) join new structures and uses.
