Intervención arqueológica preventiva en calle Curtidurías nº 9, Sevilla

Abstract

La presente intervención documenta la secuencia de ocupación de un solar en el sector NW del barrio de San Lorenzo, al NW del casco histórico de Sevilla. El primer horizonte de ocupación se ha registrado para la 2ª mitad del s. XIII, con los cimientos de una casa de modestas dimensiones, precedidos de pequeñas fosas de vertido. Una segunda fase constructiva almohade incluye un nivel de suelo de cal que se extiende por gran parte de la unidad de intervención. El siguiente horizonte relevante de ocupación es un horizonte marcado por los desechos de la actividad alfarera de la 1ª mitad del s. XVI. En el s. XVII se amortizan las estructuras relacionadas con la alfarería, cambiando a un uso habitacional que continúa en los siglos XVIII, XIX y XX.

The actual work register the ocupation séquense in the NW area of San Lorenzo quarter, in the NW part of the historical centrum of Seville. The first ocupation horizont has been registered for the 2nd. half of the XIIIth. century, with the foundations of a small house, preceded from also small waste pits. A second constructive almohade phase includes a chalk ground level extended on a great part of the archaeological excavation. The next relevant occupation horinzont is marked by the waste of pottery production of the 1st. half of the XVIth. century. In the XVIIth. century these productive structures will be covered, and the use of the area will be habitational, a use tah would be continued in the XVIII, XIX and XXth. centuries.
