Intervención arqueológica preventiva excavación con sondeos geoarqueológicos en iglesia del Sagrario. Recinto Catedral de Málaga. Málaga

Abstract

El presente artículo ofrece un avance de los resultados de la intervención realizada en la excavación con sondeos geoarqueológicos en la Iglesia del Sagrario, en el recinto de la Catedral de Málaga. Los registros obtenidos en la intervención muestran una ocupación continua para el área de la Iglesia del Sagrario, al menos desde el cambio de Era hasta la actualidad, documentándose elementos adscribibles con toda probabilidad a la Mezquita Aljama en el área del Atrio de las Cadenas y de Calle Santa María al igual que una potente edificación romana subyacente. This article offers a preview of the results of the intervention carried out in the excavation with geoarchaeological surveys in the Iglesia del Sagrario, in the grounds of the Cathedral of Malaga. The records obtained in the intervention show a continuous occupation for the area of the Church of Sagrario, at least from the change of Era to the present, documenting elements that can be attributed in all probability to the Aljama Mosque in the area of the Atrium of the Chains and of Calle Santa María as well as a powerful underlying Roman building.
