Cerro Macareno (La Rinconada, Sevilla) : Arqueología y patrimonio en la Vega del Guadalquivir (fase 3: campaña 2021)

Abstract

Presentamos los resultados de los trabajos realizados en la tercera fase (campaña 2021) del Proyecto General de Investigación ¿Cerro Macareno (La Rinconada, Sevilla): arqueología y patrimonio en la vega del Guadalquivir (2018-2023)¿. En esta ocasión los trabajos se han centrado de nuevo en la excavación en extensión del corte 1 de la elevación oriental, que se ha ampliado hacia el norte y hacia el sur hasta abarcar los 225 m2. A ello habría que sumar el estudio de las técnicas constructivas, así como las tareas prescriptivas de registro, conservación, estudio de materiales, etc. Además de los nuevos datos obtenidos sobre las últimas fases de vida del oppidum turdetano, correspondiente en este sector de la elevación oriental a un espacio doméstico y artesanal, se han podido identificar por primera vez evidencias estratificadas de ocupaciones posteriores al abandono de este asentamiento a finales del siglo II a.C. Se trata de un fondo de cabaña de época emiral que podría fecharse en torno al siglo IX d.C. Los abundantes materiales registrados en estos niveles más superficiales permiten, además, contextualizar otros que aparecen revueltos en otros puntos del corte o del propio yacimiento. We present the results of the work carried out in the third phase (2021 campaign) of the General Research Project "Cerro Macareno (La Rinconada, Seville): archaeology and heritage in the Guadalquivir valley (2018-2023)". On this occasion, the work has focused again on the extensive excavation of section 1 of the eastern elevation, which has been extended to the north and south up to 225 m2. In addition to this, we must add the study of the construction techniques, as well as the prescriptive tasks of recording, conservation, study of materials, etc. Besides the new data obtained on the last phases of life of the Turdetan oppidum, corresponding in this sector of the eastern elevation to a domestic and artisanal space, it has been possible to identify for the first time stratified evidence of occupations subsequent to the abandonment of this settlement at the end of the 2nd century BC. This is a hut from the Emirate period that could be dated to around the 9th century AD. The abundant materials recorded in these more superficial levels also allow us to contextualise others that appear mixed in other parts of the cut or of the site itself.
