LOS SAUCES - Ventana del Visitante
The recreational area is located in Los Sauces, within the public mountain "Sierra de El Burgo" and within the Sierra de las Nieves National Park.
Surrounded by pine groves of Aleppo pines mixed with holm oaks and gall oaks, the recreational area Los Sauces is a quiet and cool place very popular with hikers and people who come to seek peace and quiet and spend a relaxing day in contact with nature.
Next to the area, outside the National Park and on privately owned land, are the ruins of the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites of the Holy Desert of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. Behind the wall that separates the Yunquera-Los Sauces path from the estate where the Convent is located, you can see the remains of one of the hermitages, where the monks isolated themselves to pray and meditate.
The Los Sauces recreation area has barbecues, water points, wooden tables and benches and toilets with WCs.
