RIBERA DE JABUGO - Ventana del Visitante
This trail connects a charming town, Galaroza, with Castaño del Robledo through a riverside area, fed by the Múrtiga River, and called Ribera de Jabugo, a channel whose name, like that of the town, is related to the existing elderberry forests in the area. The huge plant diversity and exuberance of the vegetation make this route one of the most representative and spectacular around the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park.
The atmosphere during the first section of the path is shady and humid, which is reflected in the vegetal tapestry that surrounds it, formed by ferns or navelwarts between rocks on some occasions, and by poplars and willows on others.
Upon moving away from the river going uphill, it's a steep climb with a series of stone steps, accompanied by cork and holm oaks and some Valencian oaks. As we get closer to Castaño del Robledo, the slope softens, the road widens and the orchards are more extensive.
