ARACENA - FUENTEHERIDOS - Ventana del Visitante
With the signposting of this path, an invitation is made to experience the special pleasure of walking a historical path between two outstanding towns of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park. The sense of the old and historical is not hidden with the current state of conservation.
Also, the places and landscapes that are passed through are impregnated with evocations of traditional ways of life, orchards and cattle, the diversity of jobs in a changing and variable place, the fight and alliance with nature.
Through this path you will get to know the famous chestnut groves of the sierra, which make this route a differnet experience in each season: in winter, with the large leafless trees, in summer with the presence of green leaves, and in autumn, with copper-coloured leaves.
The path ends in the beautiful town of Fuenteheridos whose name is an evolution of the Leonese voices "Fonte", spring, and "Ferido", referring to the period of time during which a patch of land was irrigated.
