This trail runs through the public forest, owned by the Junta de Andalucía, called the Guadahornillos Mountains Group (JA-11004-JA), except for its last 1,320 m, which runs along the Cordel del Campillo livestock route.
It starts at Arroyo Frío, right in the existing car park next to the schools, with a climb of about 600 meters through a resin pine forest, also called black pine, until reaching the ruins of the Cortijo de la Caída and the spring of water of the same name. Here we will find a farm with sheep, goats, chickens, etc. At this point the road flattens until we reach the source of Fuente Chaves, from where we will start a gentle descent passing by the side of ruined farmhouses and their abandoned orchards, in them we will see summer fruit trees such as apple trees, pear trees, plum trees and autumn trees such as walnut trees, vines, pomegranates etc. These sources supplied water for domestic consumption and the irrigation of their orchards.
We arrive at the El Cantalar Nature Classroom road, which we will leave to the right and direct our steps to the left, following the path that with a small climb will take us to the Campillo plains, we will cross a stream and we will return to the Village of Arroyo Frio.
Nos dirigiremos por la carretera A-319 en dirección a Arroyo Frío. En la entrada, viniendo desde Cazorla, existe un aparcamiento público desde donde comienza el sendero.
