DESCRIPTION

The Sierra de Grazalema is surprising for its rugged terrain that rises above the valleys and sbasins that surround it, forming a great variety of landscapes that the El Bosque Visitor Centre collects brings together in its exhibition.

In the nearby El Castillejo botanical garden, there are samples of plant species most representative of the park. The most abundant are those associated with the Mediterranean forest. Within the botanical collection, the Spanish fir stands out, the species most emblematic of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.

Despite the fact that this mountain range is the rainiest area in Spain, rivers aren't common, but life flows through them incessantly. The passage of time and the daily activities of our ancestors have transformed these landscapes, giving them the identity that we know today and are able to take in from the Centre.

The white mountain villages are part of the Natural Park, and the Visitor Centre is located in one of unique beauty, El Bosque; an ideal place to learn first-hand how people have come to know how to safeguard natural and cultural riches through their way of life, popular customs and traditions.

The Centre also highlights the use of natural wealth through cork, livestock or hunting. For reference, panels, models, dioramas, computer tools or mechanical elements have been used, which the visitors themselves can use to discover information.
