Forestedareas inAndalusiaareof great significancebecauseof their large surface
andenormouspotential in termsof ecological, economical, cultural and social
productivity.Hence the importanceof ensuring the sustainablemanagement and
useof theAndalusian forestheritageand its resources.
Andalusia’s natural heritage is oneof the richest,most diverseand
valued in Europe. Apro-activeapproachmust be taken topreserve its
wide varietyof habitats,wild faunaandflora, and cultural landscapes,
byprovidingmitigationmeasures to copewith impacts causedby
humanactivities, and correctiveactions topromote environmentally-
beneficial traditional landuseswhichhavegraduallybeenabandoned.
