DATA OF INTEREST
DESCRIPTION

Transnevada is a circular mountain bike route that circles the whole of the Sierra Nevada, mainly following the perimeter track that delimits the Sierra Nevada National Park.

The route runs at an altitude that normally ranges between 1,500 and 2,000 m. Its total length is approximately 450 km. The route has been divided into 8 stages specially designed to be done by mountain bike. Each section ranges between 45 and 80 km, With a total length of almost 450 km. For the area in the adret in Almeria, another alternative stage has been created for the winter months.

More information: Transnevada. Stage connections

Most of the route passes through dirt roads and tracks. However, in the sections where there are no paths, you will have to travel on tarmacked roads. There are also two short sections that are not passable by bike in stage 8, and you will have to dismount and go by foot. The route is dotted with numerous signposted accesses for different towns, which can be welcome escape routes from the route whenever desired.

As a complement to the Transnevada, further 11 ONE-DAY ROUTES , each between 16 and 36 km, have also been created, which allow us to discover more corners of Sierra Nevada. In the left menu (cycle routes) you can find the websites for each of these routes.
