The Network of Climate Change Observatories in Andalusia is created with the mission of characterizing the MANIFESTATIONS of Climate Change in Andalusia: Behavior, projections, foresight.
- Characterize the IMPACTS of Climate Change in Andalusia: On the environment (ecosystems), physical environment, territory (populations, cities, infrastructure…), people (health, mobility…) and productive activity (agriculture, tourism, services, construction, industry, fishing and aquaculture), and all Research Lines by sectors established in the Adaptation Program of the PAAC.
- Recognize the most appropriate MITIGATION and ADAPTATION MEASURES for the different areas and impacts of Climate Change that can be undertaken or promoted from the Public Administration and perform the MONITORING and EVALUATION of the MITIGATION and ADAPTATION Measures that are being adopted
Objectives of the Network:
- Knowledge generation. Obtained through the exploitation of existing knowledge resources in Andalusia, both in academic and scientific environments, as well as in the Junta de Andalucía itself.
- Information capture and processing. From the perspective of information, the Network will involve:
- The progressive deployment of information capture systems on Climate Change processes, their impacts and the results of interventions.
- The development of analysis and interpretation systems for information generated by information capture systems.
