En Andalucía, cualquier persona puede acceder a información sobre medio ambiente. Este derecho se garantiza mediante la Ley 27/2006, de 18 de julio.
Se puede acceder a la información ambiental de dos formas:
- Activamente, mediante la búsqueda directa de cierta información. Para ello se ofrece ayuda y soporte a través del servicio de atención al ciudadano, el trámite de solicitud de información ambiental, así como el listado de autoridades publicas en materia de medio ambiente.
- Pasivamente, consultando y descargando la información que los organismo públicos producen y difunden de forma continua.
En Andalucía, la Rediam (Red de Información Ambiental de Andalucía) se encarga de integrar y difundir toda la información generada por los diferentes centros productores, tanto públicos como privados. Al mismo tiempo, la Rediam constituye un centro más de producción y actualización de numerosa información de temática ambiental.
