The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia has been awarded for its work in four of the eight modalities distinguished at the 10th National Congress of Biobanks

On October 17 and 18, the 10th National Biobank Congress was held at the “La Petxina” sports and cultural complex in Valencia, bringing together around 200 participants, including biobank managers, members of ethics and scientific committees. , business representatives and researchers.

In this edition, of the eight awards that the organization grants in recognition of the quality of the communications presented, the SSPA Biobank has won 3 awards and participated directly in the one awarded to the Tissue Quality Group of the RNBB.

The communication “Quality control of cerebrospinal fluid samples using 1H NMR spectroscopy” has been awarded the award for the best communication in poster format in the “Quality” category . This poster shows that the citrate signal in 1H NMR spectra can be used as a quality control marker in the handling of cerebrospinal fluid samples, allowing us to know the impact that pre-analytical conditions have on the samples.

Another of the awarded communications was the one entitled “Adaptation of the dashboard of the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia and configuration in the new nSIBAI information system” which received the award for the best communication in poster format in the “Management” category. and Sustainability” . This publication shows the innumerable advantages presented by the dashboard module of the Biobank Information System (nSIBAI), based on BigData technology, for the management of a Networked Biobank.

One more edition, and now two in a row, the SSPA Biobank has won the award for the best communication in poster format in the “Public” category , with the communication titled “The comic as a dissemination and communication tool of the Registry of Research Sample Donors (REDMI)”. This communication shows in an entertaining and fun way the operation of the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research, a pioneering registry at a national and international level, which allows citizens to actively participate in biomedical research.

In addition to the three awards already mentioned, the SSPA Biobank has participated directly in a fourth award, category "Other topics" , which has been awarded to the communication "Validation of MLH1 and MSH2 as quality markers associated with the age of the sample in paraffinized lung tissue” carried out by the Tissue Quality Group within the multicenter OPTIMARK project that is developed in the context of the RNBB of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII). This communication has been presented and defended by one of the coordinators of this multicenter project, which belongs to the SSPA Biobank.
