Fourth blood donation day organized by the Iavante CMAT line
Yesterday, Thursday, the blood donation solidarity day “You can be a superhero” organized by the Iavante line of the Andalusian Public Foundation for Progress and Health was held at the Advanced Multifunctional Complex of Simulation and Technological Innovation (CMAT).
Throughout the day, numerous students and professionals who work at the Health Technology Park passed through the CMAT facilities to make their donation and thus contribute to increasing blood reserves.
Many of these blood donors decided in turn to become sample donors for biomedical research by registering in the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research (REDMI). With these new donors, the Registry manages to exceed 1,500 registered people.
About the Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research
The REDMI is a database where citizens who are interested in participating directly in biomedical research by donating biological samples and their associated data are registered. This Registry is managed by the SSPA Biobank and has, since its creation in June 2015, more than 1,500 registered people, who can donate any biological sample of human origin obtained by non-invasive processes such as hair, nails, feces, urine, sweat, tears,…
Any user of the Andalusian public health system who wishes can register in the Registry, regardless of their age, health status or lifestyle habits. Registration can be done electronically through the Registry's website, www.soydonanteparainvestigacion.es , with a digital certificate, or by downloading and completing the form that appears on said website and delivering it to any of the Biobank nodes or sending it to email. of the Registry ( registration.donantes.csalud@juntadeandalucia.es ). In addition, they can also register for any activity organized by the SSPA Biobank and at the headquarters of the patient associations agreed upon with the Registry.
