The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia joins Dual Vocational Training
Students of professional training health disciplines acquire practical knowledge in the Coordinating Node of this research platform, in Granada
Between the months of January and April 2020, health professional training students will be trained at the facilities of the SSPA Biobank Coordinating Node in Granada, in different laboratory techniques taught by their highly specialized professionals in cell cultures, cytogenetics, biology molecular and histological procedures, etc., within the framework of the new training orientation of professional training known as Dual Training.
This is a new training model where the theoretical knowledge taught in educational centers is combined simultaneously with the practical knowledge acquired in the day-to-day life of a workplace.
Due to the need that exists in the scientific community to train professionals in the area of management of biological samples and data for research, the SSPA Biobank has become a reference for all educational centers that have training aimed at professionals in this ambit.
The SSPA Biobank has been carrying out teaching work for more than 15 years, having welcomed numerous students from universities and different educational centers. In addition to the recently incorporated Dual Vocational Training, the training offer of the SSPA Biobank includes continuous training courses, curricular and extracurricular internships for university degrees, postgraduate degrees and master's degrees, as well as stays in mobility programs, all aimed at equipping professionals health professionals with the skills necessary for their professional development, as well as the performance of their research and healthcare activities.

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia is organized as a network biobank formed by different associated nodes on provincial platforms, linked to health institutions and with a Coordination Node located in Granada. As a network biobank, it constitutes a resource platform that offers all types of biological samples and associated clinical data to researchers
