The new website incorporates new functionalities and a completely renewed design
The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia (SSPA) has just updated its website, http://www.biobancosspa.es/ , with content aimed at researchers in the field of biomedicine, patients interested in making a donation, or even professionals seeking training in Biobanco.
The website is a useful information tool about the SSPA Biobank and the donation of samples for assistance and research while attempting to serve as an interactive platform for researchers and donors.
The new Biobank website is committed to a more intuitive and attractive design for users, simplifying navigation as much as possible and making it easier to search for information. Another new feature of the website is that it has become 'responsive', that is, it is visible and accessible from any device, enhancing connectivity.
The new website presents its contents structured in four profiles intended for all audiences. A profile called “A Biobank for Research” aimed at researchers, companies and professionals in the field of biomedicine that includes sections on: sample collections; circuits for prospective collection of active samples in the Biobank; as well as the extensive catalog of services that the Biobank makes available to the scientific community. In addition, requests can be made through the website using an online form. This profile also includes information on the National Bank of Cellular Lines of which the SSPA Biobank is the coordinating node.
“A Biobank to Donate” is the profile aimed at citizens who wish to participate in biomedical research by donating biological samples and associated data. It shows all the information necessary to know what the process of donating samples and data for research is like and allows citizens to register in the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research.
Another novelty of the new website is that users can find out the calendar of active blood collections in Andalusia through the profile “A Biobank to Heal” as well as access the Dona Sangre Andalucía APP of the Andalusian Health Service. The SSPA Biobank Research Area is linked to the healthcare area through the Transfusion, Tissue and Cell Centers dedicated to the obtaining, processing, preservation and distribution of human tissues, cells, blood and products derived from it for use. therapeutic in Andalusia, as nodes of the Network Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia.
The fourth profile of the new website is called “A Biobank for Training” and collects information on the training activities/initiatives (courses, curricular practices, exchange programs or guided tours) offered by the Biobank for the scientific community, in addition, incorporates a section of educational resources that can be used by teachers.
The new website also has general information sections common to the four profiles, through which extensive information about the institution is offered, information on activities and news is provided, and the download of documentation of interest such as regulations, guides or forms is facilitated. .

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia is organized as a network biobank formed by different associated nodes on provincial platforms, linked to health institutions and with a Coordination Node located in Granada. As a network biobank, it constitutes a resource platform that offers all types of biological samples and associated clinical data to researchers.
