The Science Fair on Jerez Street warms up its engines

The 12th edition of the Science Fair on Jerez Street was presented this Tuesday at the Town Hall. The event will take place on April 16, 17 and 18, and once again the chosen venue will be the Plaza del Arenal.

Thirty-eight educational centers from Jerez and the province are participating this year in this twelfth edition, whose presentation was attended by the territorial delegate of education, Isabel Paredes, Agustín Muñoz and José Aparicio on municipal representation, and the director of the Education Center. Teaching staff from Jerez, Eufemia Rosso, in addition to a large presence of advisors from the CEP, educational inspection and companies and institutions that participate in it.

From the territorial delegation, through Isabel Paredes, the 18% increase in participating centers compared to the last year has been highlighted, a fact that shows "the consolidation" of this event. Likewise, the 6% growth in the number of scientific experiences and the 15% increase in the number of projects that have been presented have also been highlighted.

Likewise, Isabel Paredes thanked the Jerez Teaching Center for its work and, above all, the companies and institutions that have collaborated again in its implementation, "especially the City Council that has once again extended its hand to us."

For his part, Agustín Muñoz, deputy mayor and teacher, has positively valued this twelfth edition "which is a way to encourage scientific knowledge and research among young people." Furthermore, he praised the work of "the teachers' work", which also makes "Jerez a benchmark with this fair" and that "the work done in the classrooms is offered to the people of Jerez".

Thirty-eight participating centers

Once again, the Plaza del Arenal will be the best setting for young Primary and Secondary students from the 38 educational centers participating in this edition to exhibit all the work done during the course.

In 2024, the schools Al Andalus, Alfonso Carlos Álvarez, Sagrada Familia, San Juan de Dios, Torresoto, Company of Mary, Safa Schools, CDP José Cabrera, Manuel Lora Tamayo, Colegio Montaigne, Oratorio Padre Torres Silva, San Juan Bosco and the Álvar Núñez, Andrés Benítez, Asta Regia institutes , Astaroth, Elena García Armada, Fernando Savater, José Manuel Caballero Bonald, La Campiña, Lola Flores, Padre Luis Coloma, Paterna, Salmedina, San Telmo, Seritium, Sidón, Vega del Guadalete and EASD Jerez.

In addition, institutions such as the CSIC - Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia collaborate; CSIC - Spanish Institute of Oceanography; Lab3in; INDESS UCA; Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia; Committee for the Dissemination of Science and Space; Magallanes Astronomical Group and the Young Science Club.
