En este sentic, the researcher has reported on the symptoms that can be experienced in this vital stage, their causes and the possible impact on long-term health. In addition, she stressed that it is a multi-year process in which a comprehensive approach to women's health is essential, from social to physical and also psychological aspects.

Pineda highlighted the influence of the hormonal changes that characterize this stage in the physiology of women in order to manage them in the best possible way, becoming aware of the need to readapt healthy lifestyle habits, as well as the specific existing therapies. The researcher has also stressed the importance of conducting research studies focused on this stage in the grapevinea to understand the molecular and cellular parameters associated with these changes, symptoms and risks of developing diseases in the future.

During her speech, this researcher was accompanied by Jesús Roca, a postdoctoral researcher in the Female Risk knowledge generation project of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Inés Pineda, who developedhis work at the Andalusian Center for Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CABIMER), leads the scientific-technical leadership of several research projects, including projects funded by the Spanish State Research Agency and the Carlos III Health Institute.

Currently, this researcher and her group are developing different prresearch hearings aimed at knowing and delving into the cardiovascular risk of women and how it is influenced by menopause. To contribute to the development of these studies, the group has the support of the Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia and its Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research, which are the ones that provide the samplesand the associated data to carry them out, as well as volunteers (women and men over 40 years of age).

Activities to bring science closer to citizens

This conference was held within the framework of the Andalusian Science Week, as part of the Coffee with Science programme. Coffee with Science is an initiative organized by the Fundation Discover, in collaboration with the main research and dissemination entities in Andalusia. It is part of the activities of the Science Week and is funded by the Ministry of University, Research and Innovation and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology – FECYT.

Science Week is an outreach eventwith 1,190 activities organized by 158 institutions in the eight provinces and an expected participation of more than 22,656 people until November 17.

The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia participates, once again, in this meeting aimed at bringing science closer to citizens. In addition to this conference, it organizes several door daysas well as meetings with sectors linked to research, such as, for example, patient associations.
