The Biobank of the Public Health System of Andalusia participates in the VI Congress of Biohealth Research Students
After its opening day, the event has been suspended due to the pandemic situation declared by the World Health Organization due to Covid-19.
The VI Congress of Biosanitary Research Students organized by the Academy of Internal Students of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada, which was to be held in the Auditorium of the General Services building of the UGR on March 11, 12, 13 and 14, has been suspended after its opening day due to the pandemic situation declared by the World Health Organization due to Covid-19.
The objective of the conference was to promote and bring scientific research closer to university students who have not yet completed their degree. For this, the organization had prepared a cocktail of activities consisting of theoretical sessions, presentation of communications, workshops and information points on current topics related to biohealth research.
Among the topics of interest, the organizing committee of the congress has not wanted to forget the importance of donating biological samples for biomedical research and has counted on the SSPA Biobank to present to the student movement the Andalusian Registry of Sample Donors for Biomedical Research (REDMI), an initiative of the Ministry of Health and Families, which allows citizens to participate directly and actively in research, turning donors into main actors in it. During this first day, new donors for research have registered.
